This document represents a summary of discussion, conclusions, and recommendations of an Expert Scientific Panel convened to:

  1. provide a synopsis of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in free-living cervids in Canada,
  2. evaluate the ecological and socio-economic implications of CWD in Canada, and
  3. make recommendations on research and management actions to minimize and mitigate the effects of CWD in cervid species.
