The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will once again be testing for Chronic Wasting Disease among the area deer population. The DNR will operate voluntary deer check stations in Allamakee, Clayton, Dubuque, and Delaware counties. Personnel will be on hand at each check station to take brain tissue samples and answer questions about Iowa’s CDW surveillance program.

Any hunter that brings a deer to one of the stations will be entered for a chance to win a Knight muzzleloader.

Allamakee sites operating December 6, 7, 13, and 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. will be at the Allamakee County DOT maintenance shop and the lot next to the baseball diamond in Lansing.
